Abstract:

To provide a bearing for a railroad vehicle axle which prevents bearing burn-out even if the bearing abnormally generates heat.

The bearing for railroad vehicle axle includes a stationary wheel always maintained in a non-rotation state, a turning wheel movably arranged facing the stationary wheel, and a plurality of rolling elements rollably incorporated along a plurality of track surfaces circumferentially and continuously formed on surfaces facing the stationary wheel and the turning wheel. A predetermined amount of lubricant is filled in the bearing divided between the stationary wheel and the turning wheel. At least one annular partition plate is provided between the track surfaces of the stationary wheels, the annular partition plate always maintaining a constant filling amount distribution of lubricant filled in each part in the bearing. The partition plate has a melting point that melts when the bearing abnormally produces heat, and is formed of a material that can contribute to lubrication in the bearing in a molten state.
