To apply a preload to the bearing of the main shaft; to suppress a change in the preload along with the thermal expansion of the main shaft and a case caused by the heating of an electric motor.
An in-wheel motor includes the main shaft 50 to which a rotor 42 is fixed, the case 20 having a stator 41 fixed to the outer periphery of the rotor for storing the stator, the rotor and the main shaft, and a pair of bearings 61, 62 provided to face to each other in the axial direction for supporting the main shaft rotatably to the case. The case is divided into one case 20A contacting the outside surface 61ba of the bearing 61 and the other case 20B contacting the outside surface 62ba of the bearing 62. One case and the other case are fitted to be mutually movable to the axial direction and to be immovable to the radial direction. In a state that one case and the other case are fastened and fixed together by a fixing part 30 while making a pair of the bearings close to each other in the axial direction, a gap 110 for axially separating one case from the other case is provided.
