To provide a bearing for wheels with a sensor capable of compactly mounting a sensor for load detection to a vehicle, sensitively detecting the load exerted on wheels, and reducing costs when produced in large quantities.
A sensor unit 16 is mounted to the bearing for wheels in which double-row rolling elements are interposed between an outer member 1 and an inner member. The sensor unit 16 comprises both a mounting member 17 made of a magnetostrictive member and a detection coil 18 mounted to the mounting member 17. In the case that the outer member 1 is a fixed-side member, the sensor unit 16 is mounted to the outer member 1. The mounting member 17 has contact fixing parts 17a and 17b at least at two locations to the outer member 1 and a notch part 17c at least at one location between the adjacent contact fixing parts 17a and 17b, and the detection coil 18 is arranged at the notch part 17c. In the case that the inner member 2 is the fixed-side member, the mounting member 17 is mounted to the inner member 2.
