Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous terminal that includes a power generation unit and uses both a secondary battery and a capacitor for power storage and that ensures long term reliability by extended power supply life.SOLUTION: The autonomous terminal comprises: a power generation unit including a power generation element that generates power by a power generation factor according to an external environment; a secondary battery that is charged by being supplied with the power supplied by the power generation unit: a power storage capacitor that is charged by being supplied with the power supplied by the power generation unit and that has an upper limit voltage higher than a nominal voltage of the secondary battery; a load that operates by being supplied with the power; and a switch circuit provided between the secondary batter and the power storage capacitor, and the load. When a terminal voltage of the storage capacitor is higher than a terminal voltage of the secondary battery, the switch circuit enters a switched state in which a terminal voltage of the power storage capacitor is supplied to the load. When the terminal voltage of the power storage capacitor becomes equal to or higher than a lower limit voltage of the power storage capacitor, the switch circuit enters a switched state in which the terminal voltage of the secondary battery is supplied to the load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
