The bed apparatus includes: a base 51; a frame 10 freely tiltable to the base 51; a knee bottom 53 supported on the frame 10 and freely turnable to the frame 10; a frame driving part 1 for tilting the frame 10; a knee bottom driving part 3 for turning the knee bottom 53; and a control part 32 for controlling the frame driving part 1 and the knee bottom driving part 3. When the angle to the horizontal plane of the frame 10 is defined as a tilt angle α and the lifting angle to the frame 10 of the knee bottom 53 is defined as a knee angle β, the control part 32 controls the frame driving part 1 and the knee bottom driving part 3 so as to attain α≤β.
