The bed apparatus includes: the bed portion; a driving portion for performing driving in order to adjust the angle or height of the bed portion; an on-bed/leaving-bed determinating portion for determinating an on-bed state where a user stays on the bed portion and a leaving-bed state where the user is not on the bed portion; and a control portion for controlling the driving speed of the bed portion by the driving portion to be lower in the on-bed state compared with the leaving-bed state, based on the determination of the on-bed/leaving-bed determinating portion.
