To provide a bed apparatus surely preventing the user's back from being shifted upon raising the back of the bed apparatus, having a rigid bottom, and having a light weight.
A bed apparatus has a back raising mechanism. The back raising mechanism has a back raising process performed by driving a back link 30 by a driving source 34, bringing a roller 30a into rolling contact with a cam portion 32, and moving the roller along a back frame 26. In the back raising process, when a back bottom 12 reaches a fixed back rise angle, the back rise speed of a body portion 12a of the back bottom 12 begins to be delayed relative to a lumbar panel 12b to generate a level difference therebetween, the level difference between the body portion 12a and the lumbar panel 12b reaches a set value in subsequent back raising operation, and further back raising operation is performed up to the highest angle while the level difference is maintained at the set value.
