Abstract:
PURPOSE: To conduct reproducing stereophonically for a long time without adding a circuit, by utilizing monaural digital audio data including right and left audio data.
CONSTITUTION: Input audio signals SL, SR are converted to digital data SDL1, SDR1 by A/D converters 5L, 5R. A signal-processing part 6 alternately selects the data SDL1, SDR1 to obtain a single signal series which is recorded as monaural digital audio data DM2. In reproducing the data DM2, the processing part 6 alternately divides the data DM2. The divided data is interpolated and output, from tone processing part 6 as digital data SDL2, SDR2. The data SDL2, SDR2 are processed in D/A converters 12L, 12R and supplied to output amplifiers 13L, 13R. Stereo audio signals SQL, S3R are obtained from tone amplifiers 13L, 13R. When the data DM2 is not divided at the processing part 6 and sent to the converters 12L, 12R, a monaural audio signal SMO is obtained from each amplifier 13L, 13R.
