PURPOSE: To provide a compact belt cleaner with improved performance and safety by incorporating a scraper unit, having an antiwear hard scraper mounted to be reversibly slanted, in a support bed vertically movably through a guide holding removably said scraper unit.

CONSTITUTION: A scraper unit A is inserted below a conveyer belt and a scraper 2 is temporarily suspended to contact closely the belt. A bar 11 of a guide head B having a support bed C attached is fitted in a socket 9 of a support plate 5 and the angle of the support bed C is adjusted to fasten 10 the lever 11. Next, the support bed C is secured fixedly to a frame body and the tension of a spring 19 is adjusted to adjust the abutting force of the scraper 2. The scraper 2 is slanted by the expansion and contraction of a spring 6 in the travelling of the belt and returned to the original position by the force of the spring 6 at the stoppage of the belt. The wear of the scraper 2 is adjusted by the spring 19. Thus, the compact belt cleaner with improved safety and performance is provided.
