PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a belt conveyer synchronizing mechanism for a processing device by coupling the processing device with the belt of a belt conveyer for conveying a workpiece, through a sucker so as to move the processing device at a speed equal to that of the workpiece while the latter is processed by the processing device.
CONSTITUTION: When a sensor 7 detects a workpiece W and delivers a detection signal to a control device, an air cylinder 5 is operated so as to press a sucker 6 in an evacuated condition against a belt 12 so that the sucker 6 sticks to the belt 12, and accordingly, a slider 3 is coupled to the belt 12. As a result, the slider 3 is advanced along the guide rail 2 in a direction indicated by the arrow together with the belt 12. Simultaneously, the control device delivers a processing instruction signal to the processing device 4, and a tool t is moved by the positioning device 4 so as to process the workpiece W. After completion of the workpiece, the sticking of the sucker 6 is released by the control device, and the air cylinder 5 is operated so raise the sucker up to an original position. Thereafter, the belt 12 and the slider 3 are disconnected from each other.
