To provide a belt conveyor that prevents the looseness of a roller on which a belt is hung and a roller support section for supporting the roller and prevents interference with a peripheral device and contact with an operator.
This belt conveyor includes a body frame 5, the belt 2, a first roller 4 and second roller on which the belt 2 is hung, the roller support section 6 capable of relatively moving with respect to the body frame 5 in order to rotatably support the first roller 4 and loosen the belt 2, and a lock mechanism 7 for locking the roller support section 6 so that the roller support section 6 does not relatively move with respect to the body frame 5. The lock mechanism 7 has an unlocking lever 31 that releases the locked state of the lock mechanism 7 by turning using, as the axial direction, the width direction of the belt 2 substantially orthogonal to the conveying direction of a conveying object.
