Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the meander of a belt equipped on a picture forming device, etc., and improve a picture quality.
CONSTITUTION: A belt drive device 100 is provided with a belt 130 hung over between a drive roll 110 and a steering roll 120 which is a driven roll. The steering roll 120 is supported by the arm 144 of a steering device 140 and swung in an arrow mark F direction around Y axis by the drive of a stepping motor 142. A sensor 200 detects the coordinates position of the end part 132 of the belt 130 when the belt 130 is moved in a process direction and sends it to a calculation and control means 210. A steering motor output signal generation means 220 sends the signal to the steering motor 142 and amends the meander of the belt 130. The sensor 200 removes the meander characteristic peculiar to the roll and belt by detecting the belt position while matching with the rotation period of the rolls 110, 120 and the rotation period of the belt 130.
