Title:
BELT EDGE DETECTION CORRECTING MECHANISM AND COLOR IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3245602
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt edge detection correcting mechanism capable of obtaining a high quality color image even in the case a photosensitive belt edge has ruggedness such as a flaw.
SOLUTION: The belt edge detection correcting mechanism comprises belt edge detectors 4a-4d disposed on the photosensitive belt 1 rear surface at the photosensitive belt 1 end part for detecting the photosensitive belt 1 end by a laser beam from laser units 5a-5d, and a control part for calculating the time of a laser beam incident on the edge detectors 4a-4d being blocked by the photosensitive belt 1 end for the first time as a count value, and in the case the count value differs from the count value immediately before, outputting a new count value obtained by adding or subtracting a predetermined value from the count value as a corrected belt edge signal to be the reference for starting the scan of a laser beam based on the image information.
