To perform the belt deviation control to correct the deviation of a belt from a normal zone, and prevent the deviation of the belt, as much as possible, regarding a belt-type fixing device with twin belt system.
With the combination of a control to correct steering up to a snaking-movement correction angle, by which a snaking-movement correction force to correct the snaking movement of the belt is imparted and a control to correct steering up to a balance angle where the snaking movement of the belt hardly occurs, the meandering movement of the belt is surely corrected, and unwanted belt steering is also prevented and the belt is stably rotated. Furthermore, with the fine adjustment of the balance angle, the meandering movement of the belt can be suppressed stably, even when the balanced state in the alignment of the fixing unit is changed.
