Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce noise by providing a driving toothed pulley, a driven toothed pully and a toothed belt, at least one of which comprises teeth of several kinds arranged at random. CONSTITUTION:A group of teeth of a driving toothed pulley 4 comprises a tooth 9a having a large whole depth H and a tooth 9b having a small whole depth H'. In this arrangement, the tooth 9a having a large whole depth is engaged with a belt tooth more quickly and more slowly disengaged therefrom. On the contrary, the tooth 9b having a small whole depth is engaged with the belt tooth more slowly and disengaged more quickly, which will disturb the periodicity of exciting force applied from the driving toothed pulley 4 to a toothed belt 7, resulting in that the amplitude of chord vibration of the toothed belt 7 is restrained, or a resonance point is remarkably shifted to a high-speed rotation area. Thus, noise can be reduced by a large margin.
