PURPOSE: To facilitate belt setting on pulleys by separating a movable sheave from a stationary sheave against the energization force of a spring through utilization of a threaded member, and providing a variable pulley with a belt groove which can be opened easily.
CONSTITUTION: A bolt 47 is driven into a threaded hole 42 of a stationary sheave 10 to a follower pulley 9. With screwing motion of this bolt 47, the tip comes in contact with a boss 11a on a movable sheave 11 facing the threaded hole 42, and further driving of the bolt 47 causes the movable sheave 11 to move apart from the stationary sheave 10 while compressing a follower spring 38, and a follower pulley 9 is opened. A jig 45 is fixed to the movable shave 7 rear face side in a drive pulley 5, and a bolt 46 is put in detection therewith rotatably but not movably in the axial direction, and with this condition held, the tip of this bolt 46 is driven into a threaded hole 33 in a cam drum 31. With screwing motion of bolt 46 in the threaded hole 33, the movable sheave 7 in a single piece with the cam drum 31 moves in the direction apart from the stationary sheave 6, and thus the pulley 5 is opened.
