Abstract:
To reduce noise of a belt type continuously variable transmission by suppressing vibration of a pulley and a belt by synthesis of vibration waves.
This endless belt 2 of the belt type continuously variable transmission is provided with an engaging means 3 for transmitting torque by engaging with the pulley. The engaging means is composed of an engaging member 3A in a first group for generating vibration having a fixed period for rotation of the pulley in the transmission due to shock caused when it is nipped into the pulley and an engaging member 3B in a second group for generating vibration having deviated phase of the same period to cancel the vibration having the fixed period in a condition in which these engaging members are mixed.
