To provide a belt type continuously variable transmission in which a secondary pulley shaft system can be miniaturized, and a clutch can be arranged compactly.
A sleeve part 56 is projected from a back side of a fixed sheave 52 of a secondary pulley 5. One end of a transmission shaft 6 is inserted into the sleeve part, and a first bearing 57 is arranged between them, and thus, the transmission shaft 6 is turnably supported with respect to the sleeve part. A clutch hub 71 is integrally formed on an outer circumference of the sleeve part 56, a clutch drum 72 is fixed to the transmission shaft 6, and a piston 73 is arranged within the clutch drum 72. Wet clutch disks 74, 75 are alternately arranged between the clutch drum and the clutch hub. A forward gear 81, a hub 83, and a backward gear 82 constituting a forward/backward changing device 8 are arranged on the transmission shaft 6 on the back side from the clutch drum 72.
