Abstract:
To provide a belt-type continuously variable transmission which can prevent the occurrence of a slip between a pulley and a metal belt by securing a prescribed friction force between the pulley and the metal belt by adjusting the surface roughness of a contact face of the pulley according to the deterioration of a metal mold, can secure high power transmission efficiency, and can elongate a life of the durability of the metal mold, and its manufacturing method.SOLUTION: In a belt-type continuously variable transmission 1 which is constituted by winding an endless metal belt 6 between a pair of pulleys 3, 5, and transmits the rotation of one pulley 3 to the other pulley 5 by steplessly gear-changing the rotation, the surface roughness of contact faces 3a, 3b, 5a and 5b contacting with the metal belt 6 of the pulleys 3, 5 is set high as a contact face of the metal belt 6 contacting with the pulleys 3, 5 is large. Also, in a manufacturing method of the belt-type continuously variable transmission 1, a time of a polishing process in the manufacturing of the pulleys 3, 5 is shortened as a metal mold for use in the molding of an element 6A of the metal belt 6 is deteriorated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
