To provide a belt type elevator in which a small motor is used, which is a compact and thin apparatus, which is excellent in maintainability, the number of whose assembly components is reduced and the assembling workability of which is enhanced.

A conveyor housing 40 is formed by closing the front side of a housing 30 by an outer cover 50. A drive motor 70 is arranged in the lower part of the conveyor housing 40. A conveying belt 14 is hanged over a driving pulley 12, which is attached directly to a drive shaft 70a of the drive motor, and a driven pulley 13 journaled in the upper part of the conveyor housing 40 in a cantilevered state. Grains are elevated/conveyed by projected pieces 20 fit to the conveying belt 14 by rotating the conveying belt 14. The front side of the housing 30 is opened fully by removing the outer cover 50 and the conveying belt 14 is adjusted or exchanged.
