Abstract:

To provide an externally wound type belt-type transmission having a high transmission capacity, to be used by pressing a tensioner pulley from the back surface of a belt by preventing fatigue of a core wire of a tension band caused by reverse bending of the belt, generation of cracks on the lower part of the tension hand, and heat generation of the belt, when the belt composed of a plurality of blocks and the tension band is wound on the tensioner pulley in the externally wound state.

The dimensions of a tension band 7 and a blocks 8 in a high load transmitting belt B, the diameter of a core wire 7b, the pitch diameters of a tensioner pulley 3 and the belt B, and the rubber distortion amount in reverse bending of the tension band 7 are regulated, so as to satisfy following four conditional expressions of d/D<0.009, {(D+2t)/(R-2t)×(R/D)-1}×100<7.0, w/Pt>0.40, and h2-h1>0.
