Abstract:
To provide a compensating film on account of a bend-alignment nematic liquid crystal cell for improving the characteristic of a viewing angle of a display.
A display is disclosed containing the bend-alignment nematic liquid crystal cell, a polarizer and a compensating film. The compensating film contains a material having positive birefringence, a material which is oriented with the optical axis tilted on a plane vertical to a plane formed by the surface of the liquid crystal cell.
