Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending device for a hollow double pipe that is used for example for the exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, a bending device capable of superior bending even in using a thin inner pipe.
SOLUTION: An inner mandrel 5 is inserted into the inner pipe 11 of a hollow double pipe 10, and a tubular mandrel 6 in the space between the inner pipe 11 and the outer pipe 12, with both mandrels arranged in proximity to a starting position for bending; in bending the hollow double pipe 10 using a bending die 1, one end of the tubular mandrel 6 is projected to the front side in the bending direction from the starting position; and also, the projected part is formed with chamfered parts 61, 62 having nearly the same shape as the final bent shape of the inner and outer pipes 11, 12.
