Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a bending mechanism of a flexible pipe using an SMA actuator which enables the obtaining of a sufficient amount of bending force while allowing the finer diameter of the flexible pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A bending mechanism of a flexible pipe using an SMA actuator is provided with a bending pipe 4 which is formed by arranging tubular joint bodies 6 and 8 having a plurality of through holes 10 piercing a surrounding wall radially in the longitudinal direction, an SMA actuator 12 inserted through the through hole 10 and an electrically heating means connected electrically to the AMA actuator 12.
