NEW MATERIAL:A benzoic acid derivative of formula I:(R1 and R2 are phenyl or 1W6C alkyl groups, and not the same).
EXAMPLE: 2-Propionamido-4-(2'-acetoxy-benzamido)-benzoic acid.
USE: Medicines having antiallergic actions.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II or III is reacted with reactive deriative, e.g. a mixed acid anhydride with an acid halide, acid anhydride, etc., of formula R1- COCH which is reactive at the carboxyl group in an equivalent amount of preferably 1.2W3 times that of the compound of formula II or III in a solvent, e.g. water, benzene, etc. at 0W70°C to give the compound of formula I. A compound of formula IV, which may be formed as a by-product in the reaction, is led to the compound of formula I by hydrolysis with NaOH, etc.
