Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound produced from microbes and having bone resorption-suppressive activity.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of the formula, having the following physicochemical characteristics: EI mass spectrum: EI m/z 370 (M-H2O); SI mass spectrum: SI m/z 387 (M-H); HREI mass spectrum: 370.2148; molecular weight: 388; molecular formula: C23H32O5; solubility: soluble to methanol, ethanol and acetone, sparingly soluble to n-hexane and benzene; insoluble to water; color reaction: positive to sulfuric acid, iodine and ferric chloride, negative to ninhydrin; pH: <7; color: white powder. This compound can be obtained by aerobically culturing Stachybotrys parvispora F4708 in a nutritive medium.
