Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The benzothiazepine derivative of formula I (R1 and R2 are H or lower alkyl; R3 is H or 1W10C alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 5-Carboxymethyl-3-(1-ethoxycarbonylethylamino)-2,3-dihydro-1,5-benzothiazepin-4(5H)-one hydrochloride.
USE: Remedy for hypertension and other circulatory diseases. It has angiotensinase- inhibiting and hypotensive activities.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be prepared by mixing the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III in a solvent under ice cooling or ≤100°C, and reducing the mixture with a reducing agent, preferably sodium borohydride cyanide, etc., or reacting the above compounds with each other in the presence of a reducing agent.
