Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Dibenzthiepin derivatives of formula I (R1 is trihalogenomethyl; R2 is hydroxyl, amino) and their nontoxic salts.
EXAMPLE: 2-[10,11-Dihydro-8-trifluoromethyl-11-oxobenzo[b, f]thiepin-2-ylpropionic acid.
USE: Anti-inflammatory: they are effective in lower dosage than that of phenylbutazone and flufenamic acid.
PREPARATION: The ring closure reaction of a compound of formula II or its reactive derivative is effected in the presence of a condensation reagent such as polyphohphoric acid or polyphosphate ester at 70W200°C to give the compound of formula III.
