Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beta-lactamase as a reporter gene, a beta-lactamase substrate compound and uses thereof for particularly monitoring expression from a pair of expression control sequences to screen a biochemical activity.
SOLUTION: Disclosed is a recombinant nucleic acid molecule comprising an expression control sequence functionally linked to a nucleotide sequence encoding the expression of the beta-lactamase and adapted so as to function in the cells of vertebrate animals.
