Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen or lower alkoxycarbonyl).
EXAMPLE: 2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-3-methylthio-2-propenal.
USE: Useful as a synthetic intermediate of medicines. It is especially excellent intermediate of pyrazole derivatives and pyrimidine derivatives.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting the compound of formula II with a Vilsmeier reagent. The compound of formula II is, e.g. ω- methylthio-4-fluorostyrene. The Vilsmeier reagent can be prepared by mixing a dialkyl formamide such as DMF with phosphorus oxychloride at a ratio of 2:1. The reaction is carried out preferably in a solvent such as DMF at 10W 100°C, preferably at room temperature W about 70°C.
