Abstract:
The device (10) has load generating mechanisms operated independent of each other, where each mechanism exerts force simulating a load condition in the form of shear stress in a plane, cyclic stress, gas permeability, film separation or delamination. The mechanisms include a load-producing main mechanism for testing two orthogonal loading ratios, where the loads generated by the mechanisms are individually controllable. Permeability of nitrogen, air, helium or hydrogen on a material i.e. flexible textile laminate is tested. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing of a performance parameter of a material.
