Abstract:

To provide a biaxially oriented film composite sheet endowed with various well-balanced characteristics such as heat resistance, chemical resistance, low hygroscopicity, interfacial adhesiveness, varnish impregnation potential, etc. and exhibiting an excellent workability for motor insulating applications and thus to provide an electric insulating material endowed with these excellent characteristics.

The composite sheet is provided by laminating, on at least one surface of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film (A) layer, a non-woven fabric (B) layer consisting of polyarylene sulfide fibers without an interposing adhesive, whereas individual fibers of the non-woven fabric (B) layer form a mutually fused mesh, whereas the glass transition point of the thermoplastic resin constituting the A layer (TgA) and the glass transition point of the polyarylene sulfide constituting the B layer (TgB) satisfy the formula (1) below, whereas the fracture elongation of the composite sheet is 70% or above: -5°C≤TgB-TgA≤15°C (1).
