PURPOSE: To provide a polyester film excellent in the close adhesiveness with a function layer containing a highly water-soluble polymer such as gelatin, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or cellulose and suitable for a photographic film, an ink image receiving film or a plate making film.

CONSTITUTION: A coating layer containing a water-soluble and/or water- dispersible acrylic resin is provided on the surface of the A-layer of a biaxially oriented laminated polyester film having a layer (A-layer) with a thickness of below 3μm constituted of polyester wherein a crystal fusion peak is not present at 230°C or higher in differential thermal analysis laminated to at least one surface thereof by co-extrusion.
