To provide a biaxially oriented polystyrene-based resin adhesive tape or label, especially having properties suitable for a design-displaying tape or label for a container, a case or the like, a tape for fixing a bag and a container, or binding a food, and a stationery tape by improving properties of being easily torn by hand, and properties of being torn straightly.

The biaxially oriented polystyrene-based resin adhesive tape or adhesive label is obtained by using a biaxially oriented film comprising a polystyrene resin as a base material, and has 0.5-4.5 N tear load in the transverse direction of the adhesive tape or the adhesive label, 2.0-8.5 tensile elongation at break in the machine direction, ≥0.7 MPa stress of heat shrinkage at 110°C in the machine direction, and 1.0-4.0 ratio of the heat shrinkages in the machine and transverse directions.
