Abstract:
To provide a bicycle component with seats of a body receiving metal inserts capable of preventing separation between the body and the metal inserts, and a method for manufacturing the component.
A pedal crank 1 for a bicycle consisting of structural fibers incorporated in a matrix of polymeric material has two seats 4, 7 in which two metal inserts 5, 8 are received. The seats 4, 7 have a mouth 4a, 7b which opens onto an outer surface 2a; 2b of the pedal crank and have such a shape as to allow the insertion of the metal inserts 5, 8 from the outside of the pedal crank 1.
