To provide a bicycle traveling efficiently only by vertical motion of long pedal levers in order to eliminate a drawback of a conventional bicycle that traveling with crank pedals reduces driving force.

In this bicycle, long pedal levers are fit at the right and left of a rear axle. Chain or belt wheels are provided with a projection wheel in such a manner that the wheel of the projection face its counterpart, and each wheel of the projection is slidably fit in a lateral groove provided at a middle part of each lever. The chain or belt wheels annularly fit the rear axle are connected to each other with a chain or belt so that the pedal levers reciprocate vertically.
