Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle which enables not only low speed travel, but also high speed travel of the bicycle itself while reducing muscle fatigue.SOLUTION: A bicycle, which comprises a bicycle body 2, a saddle 3, and a rotational drive wheel 36 which transmits forward rotational force to a rear wheel 17 of the bicycle body 2 via a chain 21, is so configured as to have stepping-down type forward travel driving means 31 comprising: left and right pedals 32a, 32b which alternately receive a stepping-down force by both foots; a linear/rotational power conversion mechanism part which applies continuous forward rotational force to a rotational drive wheel 36 according to the stepping-down force which acts on the left and right pedals 32a, 32b alternately; and a pedal position interlock mechanism part which returns one pedal 32a, 32b from a stepping-down end position to a stepping-down start position by using a steeping-down force when the other pedal 32a or 32b is displaced from the stepping-down start position to the stepping-down end position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
