Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle that realizes a lightweight bodywork, ensures mechanical strength, and is particularly suitable as a folding bicycle.SOLUTION: A bicycle includes as frame component members a top tube 2, a pair of right and left back forks 4b and 4a to be coupled to the rear end of the top tube 2 via a seat tube 3, and a pair of right and left front forks 6b and 6a to be coupled to the front end of the top tube 2 via a head tube 5. The top tube 2 and back forks 4a and 4b are hollowed and made of a malleable magnesium alloy. Each of the back forks 4a and 4b has a reinforcement rib 8 formed as an integral part over a whole length at least at a lower position on an internal circumferential surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
