Abstract:
To provide a bidirectional power transfer mechanism for a continuously variable transmission capable of transferring power from a power input side to a power output side of the continuously variable transmission, and also from the power output side to the power input side of the continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: A bidirectional power transfer mechanism for a continuously variable transmission comprises an outer rotor 1, an inner rotor 2, a ring body 3, and a resilient portion 4. The outer rotor 1 has a plurality of first semi-capsular recessed grooves 11. The first semi-capsular recessed grooves 11 are arranged annularly. Each of the first semi-capsular recessed grooves 11 tapers off toward both ends from the center portion thereof, and assumes an arcuate shape. The inner rotor 2 has a side having a power delivery annular surface 22. The power delivery annular surface 22 comes into contact with a plurality of transmission balls 6 of the continuously variable transmission. An opposing side of the inner rotor 2 has a plurality of second semi-capsular recessed grooves 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
