Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a charged coupled device in which charge can be transferred bidirectionally in a CCD by applying a second clock signal between a plurality of adjacent odd numbered second MOS transistors and even numbered first MOS transistors. CONSTITUTION: A first switching MOS transistor (T11 -T1n ) is connected between first and second adjacent gate electrodes (25-26-1)...(25-n, 26-n) and a second switching MOS transistor (T21 -T2n ) is connected between second and first adjacent gate electrodes (26-1, 25-2)...(26-n-1, 25-n). A high control signal DC is applied, in the charge transfer direction, to the gate of the second switching MOS transistor (T21 , T22 ,..., T2n ) which is thereby turned on. On the other hand, a low control signal DC is applied, in the charge transfer direction, to the gate of the first switching MOS transistor (T11 , T12 ,..., T1n ) which is thereby turned off.
