To provide a bill bundler which does not require a tape to be replaced even if a type of bills to be bundled changes and can indicate the type of bills only within a predetermined range necessary for bundling.
The bill bundler has a tape T not specified in the type of bills to be used in common for a plurality of types of bills held in a tape reel 14 in a rolled state, and is equipped with a printing mechanism 21 for printing the indication showing the type of bills on the tape according to the type of bills to be bundled on a tape supply passage. When supplying the tape, the indication of the type of bills is printed by the printing mechanism 21 over an entire region located at least on the outermost side around collected bills, a drawn-out end of the printed tape is wound around the collected bills P, and then a tape carry means is reversely rotated to fasten the slack of the tape. Then the wound rear end of the tape is cut and heat-bonded by a cutter 10 and a bonding iron 13, and the tip of a subsequent tape after the cutting is pulled back to a print start position for the next bundling.
