To provide a bill counter for enabling a user to easily replace a driving endless belt which has short lifetime and easily comes off and to remove a jammed bill.
The bill counter 1 is provided with a hopper 2, a separating part 3, a conveying part 4, a discreminating part 5, pockets 6-1 to 6-4 and a reject pocket 6-5, guide parts 7-1 to 7-5, diverters 8-1 to 8-4, and a control part. The conveying part 4 comprises a driving belt mechanism 4-1 and a driven belt mechanism 4-2. The driven belt mechanism 4-2 and a portion of components of the discreminating part 5 are attached integrally to a door part 110 attached to the rear part of an apparatus main body 100 in a freely openable and closable manner. The driving belt mechanism 4-1 and the diverters 8-1 to 8-4 are attached integrally to a module body 9 so that they can be mounted on the apparatus main body 100 freely detachably when the door part 110 is opened.
