To simplify the construction of a bill discharge device by connecting together an upper roller, a lower roller, and respective upper and lower rollers of a reject part through a power transmission mechanism having one drive source, and transmitting power to an elevatable means through the upper roller.
When an upper roller 2 is rotated by a drive source, an arm 3 is drawn to the left by a spring 8. As a result, right and left links 4 are rotated counterclockwise centering around supporting shafts 5, a movable guide plate 1 is vertically brought down by the distance corresponding to their rotation, and then a positioning pin 17 is detached from a guide piece 7. The movable guide plate 1 is positined so that the descent end is on the upper face of fixedly reserved bills 11, and the bill 11 bundle is fixedly pressed by tension of the spring 8. Simultaneously the outer circumference except a cutout part 13 of the upper roller 2 cooperates with the outer circumference of a lower roller 18, so as to convey the bill 11 bundle to a delivery port while pinchedly holding it with pressure contact faces. When the extreme end of the bill 11 bundle reaches the delivery port, the bill 11 bundle is released from the pressure contact faces and can be taken out.
