The bill processing apparatus for processing bills includes an accumulation part 71 for accumulating the bills, a conveying part 20 for executing accumulation of conveying and accumulating the bills into the accumulation part 71, a binding part 65 for executing a binding process of binding the accumulated bills with binding material accumulated by the accumulation part, a heater 66 for heating the binding material, and a temperature detection part 67 for detecting whether the heater 66 reaches the predetermined temperature or not. Further, the bill processing apparatus for processing the bills also includes a control part 90 for getting control so as to execute the other processes except the accumulating process and the binding process when the temperature detection part 67 detects the heater 66 not reaching the predetermined temperature yet.
