Abstract:
PURPOSE: To safely and quickly change a mold without needing more establishment of a spare strand by shifting the mold developing an accident to an escaping space together with an oscillating device and changing the mold on the working floor.
CONSTITUTION: When casting into one strand in the molds 7 becomes impossible, the pouring of molten metal into this mold is stopped and also a floor material of the front part working floor 1a corresponding to this mold 7 is taken away and released. By driving a driving winch 23 in a mold shifting device 22, the oscillating device 9 is shifted to the front part from the casting position together with the mold 7 and a unit case 16 is shifted to the escaping space part 21b from the casting position space part 21a to expose the mold at the releasing part in the front part working floor 1a. After the mold is taken out by a crane in the equipment, the new mold 7 is fitted to an oscillating table 11 and by again reversely driving the driving winch 23, the mold and the oscillating device 9 is returned back to the casting position, and after the front part working floor 1a is closed, the casting into this mold is reopened. By this method, the changing work of the mold is facilitated and the continuous casting for long time can be operated.
