Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a billet for forged piston by which the billet excellent in a formability (forgeability) can be manufactured.
The method for manufacturing the billet for forged piston includes the steps of; filtering molten aluminum alloy; pouring the filtrated molten metal into a cavity in a metallic mold; and forming a formed body by cooling the molten metal poured into the cavity from the bottom surface and the side surfaces of the cavity.
