CONSTITUTION: A billet take-out device for a semicontinuous casting machine is provided with a tiltable clamping unit 2 for holding or releasing plural billets 1 standing at random, one by one almost simultaneously, an elevating means 3 for moving the clamping unit 2 vertically, and a conveyor means 13 traveling horizontally with the elevating means 3 placed thereon. In this case, the clamping unit 2 is provided with horn-shaped guides lined up having maximum diameter openings so as to be able to guide and set the billts 1, and a measure to prevent the generation of a flaw is also taken.
