Title:
BINARIZATION THRESHOLD DECIDING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3705414
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a threshold to follow up ground density of an original, etc., by removing an image data part to be extracted and to decide the threshold so that exact binarization is performed by the threshold and no noise is generated even in the case of a background part where no image to be extracted exists and a place where the ground density is changed to the density approximated to the image to be extracted.
SOLUTION: This method is constituted so that the threshold in a pixel of interest (N) is calculated by calculating an average density value in the pixel of interest (N) from image data in the pixel of interest (N) to be binarized and its surrounding pixels, calculating difference of thresholds in the average density value and the previous pixel (N-1) of the pixel of interest (N) to be binarized, defining it as a change value, calculating a follow-up value to indicate a change degree of the threshold in the pixel of interest (N) based on the change value, adding the follow-up value to average density and further adding a prescribed added value to it.
