To provide a binary injection internal combustion engine capable of enhancing the engine output by eliminating a negative engine work in intake stroke, suppressing NOx generation during combustion by reducing oxygen concentration in intake air, and further improving exhaust heat recovery efficiency by suppressing the blow-by of the intake air, and its operation method.
In this four-cycle binary injection internal combustion engine, a main fuel and another injection fluid are injected into a combustion chamber followed by burning. This internal combustion engine comprises an injection valve for injecting the injection fluid into the combustion chamber and a fluid injection device for opening and closing the injection valve so as to inject the injection fluid over a prescribed period from the vicinity of a top dead center including air supply and exhaust top dead centers.
