Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder composition for an electrode excellent in storage stability of a slurry, defoaming properties in preparing a slurry, and smoothness in a coating film, and a slurry for an electrode using the binder composition, and further to provide an electrode manufactured using the slurry for an electrode, and a secondary battery and an electric double-layer capacitor manufactured using the electrode and having excellent discharge rate characteristics and cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A secondary battery and an electric double-layer capacitor having excellent discharge rate characteristics and cycle characteristics can be obtained by using a binder composition for an electrode and a slurry, the binder composition being capable of being obtained by the copolymerization of an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid ester compound, a sulfonic acid derivative having a (meth)acryloyl group and an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid.
